Greener Leith Commuter Breakfast

Greener Leith works hard to support the development of a local, healthy, sustainable food system. To this end, we've set-up a number of projects to help promote this idea.

You can find our latest food news on our blog by clicking here:

http://www.greenerleith.org/greener-leith-news/category/food

We also have a 'Food Group' on the Greener Leith Social. You can network with other local people interested in this area here:

Greener Leith also fundraises for our own projects that support the development of local food activities in Leith. We held a "food summit" in January 2009 and produced a Leith on-line food map. We have planted a 'Childrens Orchard' on Leith Links, the Pilrig Berry hedge in Pilrig Park, and support the ongoing development of the Redbraes and Persevere Community Gardens.

We've also organised events focussed on issues like cutting domestic food waste, "slow food" and foraging.

Some members of Greener Leith are also in the process of setting up a 'virtual farmers market' for Edinburgh and the Lothians called Greener Monday.
