Greener Leith A-Z > L is for... > Lending
Lending your stuff to other people is a fantastic way to reduce our need to buy things. Is there really a need for everyone to have a lawnmower in every shed, in every backgarden? Wouldn't it be great if it were possible to share one for the whole street? Ecomodo is an on-line service that helps to take the risk out of lending things to strangers. It even has an insurance policy set-up so that if you lend something to someone and it gets damaged - you're covered.
We've set-up a Greener Leith lending circle on Ecomodo.com, and integrated it into the Greener Leith Social.
We got things started by adding an Energy Monitor, a Bike Trailer, and a socket set into the lending circle and other people quickly followed. But, if it's really to work, then we need lot's of Leithers to sign-up and add stuff to the lending circle. It's free to sign-up - but it only really starts to get interesting when you start to ask yourself, what can I lend?
You can sign-up here:

However, once you've signed-up, don't forget to join the Greener Leith Lending Circle and add some stuff to it. You can find it here:
