Greener Leith - Spring Clean Event

| Comments2 Comments |

We're pleased to announce that we've set a date for our first annual spring clean event. We'd like to invite everyone and anyone who lives or works in Leith to participate in this. The City of Edinburgh council will provide all the tools and equipment required. All you need to do is turn up and take part.

  • When? Saturday the 28th of April. Just in time to see how many prospective councillors and MSP's we can persuade to come out before the elections. 1.30pm - until we've had enough.
  • Where? Meet at the Bowling Club house on Leith Links. If there are enough people willing to take part, we may send a group up to tackle Redbraes Park too, as there's rumours of bacon butties going begging...
  • Who? Everyone and anyone is invited. But if you're under 16, you should be accompanied by an adult who's prepared to take responsibility for you. Although you're welcome to turn up on the day, it would helpful if you could contact us to let us know you're coming so that we give the council some idea how much stuff to bring.

What is it that you are actually going to be working on?

Clean-up events aim quite simply to remove litter from the parks. Particpants will get a litter picker, some gloves and some bin bags, and asked to venture forth... we'll start at the bowling greens on Leith Links and see how we fare from there.
