Greener Leith is pleased to announce a new service for Leithers - Greener Leith Search. If you live in Leith, or have a connection to Leith you can now support Greener Leith, simply by using our unique Greener Leith search page as your starting point to surf the web.
The page, available at www.greenerleith.org/search gives users two options. The first search box gives users the option to search the web, and will give you exactly the same results as a 'normal' search using www.google.co.uk
However, the second option is more interesting. If you use our special 'Greener Leith' custom search engine you will receive results from throughout the web - which are biased towards Leith and also 'green issues'. This search engine is unique to Greener Leith and built using Google Coop. This may sound odd - however the best way to understand it is to try it out. Try typing the same search words into both boxes and compare the differences between the results. If you're looking for something local - our Greener Leith search engine could be more useful.
Whatever option you use, Greener Leith will receive a share of the revenue generated by Google from your web browsing activity.
