McScunered!
November 8, 2008 by
Ally A hearty well done to all the volunteers who turned out today to clean-up the North East corner of Leith Links. Thanks to Alison and the rest of the Leith Links Community Council for organising the event.
You can see how much rubbish the 18 (or so) volunteers managed to gather in just two hours. Local Cafe Bijou also deserve a mention as they donated a £20 voucher to the raffle. Alison cunningly saved the draw to the end of the event, to encourage people to stay to the end! A trick others might do well to remember for the next time they organise a clean-up event.
It was notable that the source of so much of the litter gathered was the Seafield Road McDonalds. If they can't clear it up - why don't they at least sell their food in biodegrabable packaging?
These kids gathered all this rubbish themselves! (with a bit of help from about 16 others)
