Thank You!

Greener Leith would like to thank the 20 volunteers who turned up yesterday to help clean up Pilrig Park. Clocking up some 40 hours in the frosty sunshine we not only collected 48 bags of rubbish, but also 2 front car seats,1 back car seat, 1 bathroom cabinet, 1 chair, 10-12 meters of gas pipe, 2 bicycle wheels, 1 cannibalised bicycle, 1 computer monitor, 4 traffic cones, 1 duvet, 5 pieces of clothing, 1 mangled car bonnet, 3 sand bags, 1 wicker basket and a dead cat.
Thank you again for giving up your afternoon. Pilrig Park is looking immaculately clean now and ready for Spring. For those of you who have acquired a taste for litter picking and are longing for more we plan to organise a clean-up as part of the KSB 'National Spring Clean' in April, when we will try to tackle the Lochend cycle path. It's in a terrible state, and despite regular complaints to the local neighbourhood partnership, there are still serious amounts of litter and flytipping down there including the burnt out moped below. If you'd like to help us get this path sorted - get in touch.
