    The Big Bike Giveaway

    Do you want to start cycling more, but haven't got a bike? If so, it's your lucky day, as Greener Leith is looking for 50 lucky Leithers to give free reconditioned bikes to, in return for a commiment to regular use.     If "Leith" can mean "Marchmont" and your bikes include a recumbent, I'm there!

    The Bike Station say the bikes will not be available for 6 weeks, despite the e-mail offer saying you have to collect it within a month of getting the e-mail. So be prepared to wait.

    Hi, I received my email but the Bike Station were not sure about it so was told to get back to greenerleith - could you advise on when best to contact them as concious that it will be over the 1 month that we had to claim them in. Many thanks.

    I've spoken to the Bike Station and we'd both like to apologise for any confusion - they were a bit inundated with requests after an Evening News article about the We Love Leith campaign gave some people the impression that they could get a free bike just by turning up to the Bike Station.

    If you were amongst any of the 24 folk to receive an email from Greener Leith confirming that you'd been awarded a recycled bike, then please give them a call on 0131 668 1996 to discuss the best way to get hold of a bike. Sorry for any incovenience caused.

    Hi,just posting to let people know the Bike Station told me today they are still trying to work through the backlog. I took my email in on 5th July and there's still no sign but they assure me that they will call when the bike is done. I hope it comes soon, the good cycling weather is disappearing fast!
