Bike fancy dress is fun for grown ups too...
Most people will probably know that we're planning on hosting a 'car free day' on the afternoon of Sunday the 20th of September at The Shore. Part of the celebrations will involve a bike fancy dress competition - and to help kids get ready for the big day we're pleased to be able to offer primary school kids in Leith a free 'bike dressing workshop' this coming Friday, the 18th of Septemeber, betweem 1.30pm and 3.30pm. The workshop will take place in the playground of Leith Primary School on St Andrews Place.
All adults must be accompanied by a primary school age child, and of course everyone should have a bike. There will be two artists there from Alchemy Arts and supportive volunteers - we just don't know how many people will turn up. So, if you have any spare materials (cardboard, tin foil, zip ties etc) please feel free to bring them with you! And you may want to come prepared to get covered in paint and glue too...
If you have any further questions about the workshop or indeed the car free day itself then please don't hesitate to contact us.
The photo above was taken by Monkey Puzzle at a Car Free Day event in Portobello - and shows that adults probably like bike fancy dress more than children...
