Excitement growing about Dickson Street Community Plot

The Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association (ECBA) have just got permission from the council to develop a vehicle access point into their Dickson Street Community Plot. Conceived as an alternative to traditional allotment sites (see previous entry), the community plot will be used by local residents to grow fruit and vegetables. It'll also be used by ECBA themselves, who have already scheduled a series of 'Grow Your Own Courses' for people interested in developing their green fingered skills. Greig Robertson from ECBA said,
"We are really pleased to announce that the Council have given ECBA the go ahead to create an street access point to the site we have been working on behind Dickson Street in Leith.
We will be teaching our Grow Your Own course there all year, and we hope that it will provide the format for the creation of similar Community Plots sites across the city."
