Win a Winkku!

Spring has finally sprung and after the coldest winter in years, lot's of people are dusting off their bikes and getting out, enjoying the freedom of the open cycle path. Our We Love Leith campaign aims to help the hundreds of Leithers that have already made a We Love Leith pledge to cycle more with confidence. That's why we're delighted that the Scottish company behind Winkku have joined forces with Greener Leith to provide local cyclists with an exclusive offer.

What's a Winkku? You may well ask. Billed by the Independent as a top 10 cycling gadget, the Winkku combines a rear view mirror, with an indicator and secondary bike lights, to help bikers be seen in the dark. We think a Winkku is especially good for cyclists who are just building their confidence in urban traffic.

They add some width to your bike, and with the extra lights, they will encourage cars to give you a wider berth (although you can easily fold them in, if you want to nip through a tight gap). Also, when making those sometimes tricky right turns, the Winkku provides everyone around you with a clear signal of what you intend to do - and it let's you see what's going on behind you more easily.

We've got a set of Winkku, worth about £26, to give away as a prize. To enter the competition all you need to do is make a We Love Leith pledge to walk, cycle or take public transport more, and live inside the shaded part of this map. If you've already made a pledge, then, don't worry, you're already entered.

Lastly, Winkku have also kindly provided Greener Leith with a discount code that gives you £3 off the cost of a set of Winkku when you buy direct from their website. We've already mailed this to all the members of The Greener Leith Social, but if you'd like the code, then please do get in touch.
