Pilrig Park Clean-up 2010

Rob Connor, Greener Leith volunteer and board member led the community clean-up in Pilrig Park last Satuday. He sent us the photos above (are you in them?) and writes:

After a tricky start because I couldn’t find the key to open the wheelie bin containing our equipment, we were off and running. There was a fantastic turn-out with around twenty people, adults and children taking part over the two hours.

As I said to someone, its like looking at the stars. Gradually your eyes become accustomed to spotting the tiniest pieces of litter.

I think the day was a great success, the sun shone and we all met some new and interesting people. The consensus seemed to be that we should do this on a more regular basis and we hope to provide personal litter pickers in the future for our younger members. Thanks very much to all who helped. If you attended and would like to organise another event, why not sign-up to the Greener Leith Social and suggest a date or two in the discussion forum?

Wow, this guy's a natural-born poet!
