35,894.01 Kilos

We've just got our hands on the interim evaluation report that looks at how much CO2 our We Love Leith project has saved so far - and the figure we've calculated is 35,894.01 Kgs. According to our calculations, that's equivalent to Leithers driving about 110,000 less miles between them. So, if you've already made a We Love Leith pledge, and you've stuck to it - then give yourself a well deserved pat on the back.

Afterall, depending on the pledges you made, chances are you're not only helping to combat climate change, you're also helping to improve local air quality, saving cash and helping to keep yourself healthy.

If you've not made a pledge yet. Don't worry, it's not too late to change the way you travel for the better. In fact, we still need hundreds more Leithers to make a We Love Leith Pledge. You can do it now, here: http://www.weloveleith.com/pledge

And if you do - you could win a Winkku.

Whilst we're still trying to encourage more people to change the way they travel for the better, we've also been working behind the scenes to make it easier for people to stick to their pledges. For example, thanks partly to all your votes in our Future Travel Survey, local councillor Marjorie Thomas, has asked council officials to conduct a feasibility study into cutting traffic on the Shore.

We've also been working to boost cycle parking around the neighbourhood too. For example, the picture below shows Ben, our community gardener, and local volunteers installing a Plantlock in Redbraes community garden a couple of weeks ago.
