There's nothing you can't do on Leith Walk...

We have absolutely no idea who's behind the Sensational Alex Salmond Gastric Band. If you liked that homage to Leith Walk then you may wish to visit their Facebook page.

SASGB aren't the only people to have recently penned songs about Leith Walk. You can listen to "Leith Walk" by the really rather excellent Foxgang on their My Space page - and buy it as part of a 10 track bundle from www.10tracks.co.uk

Meanwhile, Grant Mason, who curates the popular 'three from Leith' music podcast, has posted a 10 minute video clip of his bicycle journey down Ferry Road and along to the Shore, in rush hour. Watching the clip, it's easy to see why cyclists keep winning the Edinburgh commuter challenge.

On a similar, if less comedic note, GreenerLeithers should check out "Foot of the Walk" by Saint Jude's Infirmary, with guest vocals by none other than Ian Rankin. It's track 12 on their latest album which is on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/saintjudesinfirmary/music/albums/this-has-been-the-death-of-us-13764785
