Dundee campaign group calls for national support

Dundee campaign group RATTS, who are opposed to the construction of a Biomass plant in Dundee similar to the one Forth Energy propose to build in Leith, have been in touch calling for people opposed to the plans to join them in a national campaign to oppose the Dundee plant.
Forth Energy have recently submitted a formal planning application to the Scottish Government plan for the Dundee plant, with applications for the plants they propose in Grangemouth, Rosyth and Leith set to follow over the following months.
In a message to Leithers Norman McClean said:
"Forth Energy have now submitted their planning application for the Biomass incinerator in Dundee to the Scottish Government and the public have until 24th September to submit their objections to this proposal. Please encourage every one of your supporters to object strongly to this proposal. If the plant gets approved for Dundee, it will make it much more difficult to argue against the construction of an even bigger power station in Leith. I fear that they have targeted Dundee first because it will be seen as a "pushover" because we are desperate for jobs.
Every objection counts, so I hope you can call on every member in your database, plus their family, friends, colleagues, etc. to object to this ridiculous proposal. We have prepared a sample letter which can be downloaded and modified if required from our website at: - http://www.ratts.org.uk/biomassletters.html"
