Greener Leith exists to improve the Open Spaces throughout Leith. It is a non-profit voluntary association, run by volunteers with a connection to Leith. We have no paid employees. The map below gives you a quick summary of some of the things that we've done since we started in 2006. You can find out more about what we do here.
Join Us
By joining Greener Leith you are supporting a voluntary organisation dedicated to improving your neighbourhood. We encourage our members to get involved in Greener Leith activities but there is no obligation! It doesn't cost much to join Greener Leith, but your membership fees provide vital support for our activities, making it easier for us to raise extra funds from other sources.
It costs just £5 per year for a 'standard member' and if you are on a low income, only £3 per year. It costs £10 per year for organisations to join. Join on-line now using a credit or debit card.

Buy Greener Leith Stuff
We're pleased to be able to sell you our 'Mark 2' Greener Leith shopping bag, or get yourself some of the near legendary "Sheds of Leith" mugs. All the profits from our Greener Leith shop will be used by us to make a Greener Leith.
Use Our Search Engine
Greener Leith has not one, but two of it's own search engines, both powered by Google. That means that you can support Greener Leith just by using them to browse the web. The first one will give you the same results as searching in Google. The second one, allows you to do a special Greener Leith search of the web. See our search page for more information.
Volunteer for Greener Leith
In our quest to make Leith a greener place we are always looking for people who can spare some time each month to help consolidate and develop our organisation. We would be delighted for anyone with good ideas, enthusiasm and drive to join us in this task but we would be particularly happy to find individuals capable of taking on the following tasks:
- Person with IT skills to help us to manage our member database. We also need people who have the resources to produce podcasts, and short video's and the like. Greener Leith wants to do more with 'social media'.
- Person with communications/Public relations skills to raise awareness of Greener Leith.
- Person with graphic design skills to help us design posters, logos and graphics.
We'd also love to hear from people who'd like to help us develop specific projects such as:
- Development of phase two of our Greener Leith 'smart shopping' campaign.
- Development of community gardens projects in leith - Persevere community garden and/or Leith Links.
- Development of 'siege of leith' heritage project in Pilrig Park.
- Development of 'berry hedge' project in Pilrig Park.
- Development of 'Portobello-Leith Links' cycle path campaign.
